Northallerton by-election result

The Conservative Party candidate Caroline Anne Dickinson has been elected as member for the Northallerton division to North Yorkshire County Council.

The by-election, which took place yesterday, was called following the death of Conservative county councillor Tony Hall.

The full result was:

• Michael Edwin Chaloner (Green), 58 votes
• Caroline Anne Dickinson (Conservative), 654 votes
• Chris Pearson (Yorkshire First), 131 votes
• Stephen Anthony Place (UKIP), 278 votes
• David Tickle (Labour), 233 votes

The turn-out was 22.19 per cent of the electorate.
