On Friday 5 August, NUFC take on Fulham FC and a special live screening of the game will take place at St James’ Park, in the company of a striker who played for both teams; Malcolm ‘Supermac’ MacDonald.
The Fulham born player was signed for his home team by Bobby Robson in 1968, moving to Newcastle United in 1971 and going on to play for England, scoring all five goals in a 5-0 victory against Cyprus in a European Championship qualifier.
He later went on to manage Fulham FC and during the course of the screening, organised by the stadium’s catering partner, Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events, he will give fans his views on the match and share insights into his experience of both clubs.
Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events area sales manager, Samantha Doyle, said: “Newcastle United has many footballing legends but Supermac is undoubtedly one of its all-time greats.
“His in-depth knowledge and experience of both Newcastle and Fulham will really give fans an added insight into the match.
“He’s also great company and will really make the event a night to remember – whatever the final score.”
Doors open at 6.30pm and a cash bar will be available.
Tickets cost £10, or £15 to include a bottle of beer and savoury pie, are available by calling 0191 201 8525 or e-mailingcatering.reception@nufc.co.uk
