A PARTNERSHIP between a leading North East catering company and a local authority is enjoying success in its first year.
Durham-based events company Oldfield Events, who joined forces with Seaham Town Council to provide first-class hospitality at the new Town Hall, are celebrating after a successful start to the joint venture.
Seaham Town Hall, which is the result of a £1m investment by the town council, opened last year at Seaham Town Park, Station Road as a versatile events space.
As a result of the partnership, the venue has already played host to a number of events including regular concerts, seasonal events and celebrations days.
“The success of this joint venture has helped to attract people and income to the area, making the venue a huge asset to the town,” said Bill Oldfield, MD of Oldfield Events.
“We’ve been able to use our expertise to build business and provide a number of events that really appeal to the people in the area.
“The rooms at Seaham Town Hall are very versatile, which makes it a great resource not only for the people in Seaham but for those outside the area who are holding events and functions.”
Cllr Bruce Burn Snr, Mayor of Seaham, said, “This is a new venture for us and one which we’re very proud of.
“The Town Hall has exceeded our expectations. The venue is a fantastic addiction to the town and the people of Seaham have really embraced it.”
Oldfield Events also supply the catering for events at Peterlee’s Shotton Hall, which is also a local authority building.
Seaham Town Council and Oldfield Events have a full calendar of events planned for the coming year, along with offering Seaham Town Hall as a venue for all types of functions.
