Pacific storm back to Northumberland Live

Fresh from a storming performance at last month’s Northumberland Live at Blyth, indie band Pacific are set to gain even more fans when they return to play at Saturday’s Northumberland Live at Bedlington.

Pacific are one of the most hotly tipped acts of the moment. This fresh and alternative indie band has already been played on national radio stations and are receiving rave reviews.

Songs include the piano led EP What Are You Waiting For,  which is jam packed with powerful songs and big melodies and their big hitting ‘Time to Forget’ single.

But it’s their live appearances when the band comes into its own. They have already supported big names such as Starsailor, Echo and the Bunnymen and Maximo Park.

Event Organiser Mel Jackson from Jigsaw Event Management said, “ We are delighted that Pacific are coming back to Northumberland again. They were very popular with the audience and made a lot of new fans.”

The family friendly festival will take place in the town’s Gallagher Park with headlining  act The Commitments performing soul classics such as  Mustang Sally, Destination Anywhere and In the Midnight Hour. The eight piece band will perform all of the hits from the film and will entertain the crowds with their instantly recognisable horn section and their sweet Soul rhythm section.

Other musical entertainment on the bill includes the West End 80’s Mania show which features songs and dance from the age of synthesizers, painted faces, leggings and permed hair. Also appearing are UB40 tribute band, Ultimate 40,The Sleeze Sisters, The Understudies, Just So and Unplugged and young talented singer guitarist Arrianne Masters.

As well as the musical attractions, a wide range of quality food from local suppliers and a family activity area will keep all of the family entertained. There will also be a display by the Royal Logistics Corps Parachute Display Team, The Silver Stars. (weather permitting) and a performance from Headway Arts Dance Company from Blyth.

Northumberland Live @ Bedlington has been made possible by partnership working between Northumberland County Council, Active Northumberland, East Bedlington Parish Council and West Bedlington Town Council. Metro Radio are the official media partners of the festival.
