Neeraj Nayyar and his team at Physiotherapy Matters celebrated the opening of their new Head Office at Regent Centre in Gosforth this week, helped by corporate clients, partner organisations and private patients keen to take a look at their state of the art equipment and new treatment rooms available for treating musculoskeletal problems and work-related health issues.
Established eight years’ ago, Physiotherapy Matters has developed a specialty in proactive and collaborative musculoskeletal physiotherapy programmes to combat the individual Occupational Health needs of each business, which the Health and Safety Executive estimate cost employers around £14.2 billion last year in lost working hours.
The new Gosforth clinic adds to the practice’s facilities in Newcastle City Centre and Darras Hall, Ponteland and has allowed the company to recruit a new Business Manager and add to its seven-strong team of experienced chartered physiotherapists specialising in the treatment of neck pain, sports injuries, arthritis, whiplash, headaches and low back pain.
In addition to its three North East clinics, the business provides onsite services for a number of its Occupational Health clients including Newcastle International Airport, Virgin Money, North Tyneside Council and Metro operator DB Region Tyne and Wear.
Managing Director Neeraj Nayyar said: “We are delighted with the number of guests who have come to see our new facilities this evening. After eight years of steady growth, this new clinic is pivotal to our next stage of development. Expanding our facilities allows us to create more jobs and add to our expert team of specialists, which in turn helps us to treat more people suffering from musculoskeletal problems.
“We are experiencing significant growth in the Occupational Health side of our business, as proactive wellbeing becomes a greater concern for many North East businesses looking to reduce the financial impact of sickness absence and work-related injuries.
“Back and postural complaints are particularly common problems among office workers so we provide an assessment of the employees’ work place environment to advice and prescribe adaptations to assist in return to work or sustaining a healthy work force.”
As part of the launch of the new premises business manager Laura Barker announced that they would extend their special offer of free 15-minute initial consultations to the public until December 31, 2014.
She added: “The open week has been about showing existing and potential clients the support we can offer to optimise their quality of life and help them to stay healthy and active. We wanted to extend this offer until the end of the year to those who could benefit from the valuable advice and information we can provide.”
