Natasha Slee, activities coordinator at The Beeches Care Home, was gunged to raise money for the charity, which spearheads the national fundraising event every year.

Visitors, staff and residents joined in the fun by dressing in pink and throwing jelly at Natasha.

The home, on Green Lane, Newtown, also sold cakes and raffle tickets to raise funds. The local Tesco store, on Durham Road, donated cakes for the sale.

Natasha said: “We’d like to thank everyone who visited the home and donated towards such a worthy cause. We’re so proud to have raised over £400 and we couldn’t have done it without the support of our residents, staff, families and the local community.”

Donations can still be made online at www.justgiving.com/WearitPink-TheBeeches.
