THE development of a children’s hub aiming to provide a combined service for children and their families across the South Tees area was discussed in a Cabinet meeting held yesterday, Tuesday 7 March.

Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council will manage the hub in partnership with Middlesbrough Council and other relevant organisations in order to improve services and ensure children and their families receive the right service at the right time.

Set to be based at Daisy Lane in Overfields, the Children’s Hub will ensure information can be shared more efficiently between services and reduce unnecessary referrals.

Being a single point of contact for children and their families needing support also allows the partners to share information and expertise.

Cllr Craig Hannaway, Cabinet Member for Children, said: “I am pleased to see that the Multi-agency Children’s Hub is making progress. The welfare of all our families and children is of the utmost importance and the hub will ensure their needs are met.”
