Polestar is giving UK customers the chance to be among the first to ‘experience’ the upcoming launch of the Polestar 5 in Gran Turismo 7, for PlayStation 4 and 5 and compete for the top spot in a nationwide competition.
Gran Turismo driving simulators will arrive in selected Polestar Spaces across the UK this winter for local competitors to take part. Visitors will be able to get behind the virtual simulator wheel of Polestar’s electric 4-door performance GT months before launch, with their lap times able to be entered into a UK-wide Polestar racing leaderboard.
The fastest drivers at each Space will go head-to-head in a live final at the Polestar Space in Battersea Power Station in London in February, where the overall UK winner will be crowned and receive an all-expenses paid trip to Sweden.
The Gran Turismo set-ups will tour four Polestar Spaces, giving customers multiple chances to take part:
- Polestar Sheffield – 11 December 2025 to 7 January 2026
- Polestar Cribbs Causeway – 11 December 2025 to 7 January 2026
- Polestar Solihull – 9 Jan to 3 Feb 2026
- Polestar Battersea – 8 January 2026 to 3 February 2026
Visitors can drop in, set their fastest lap, and join the competition leaderboard. No booking is required.
The experience for visitors and customers has been tailored to give the most accurate digital experience of the new Polestar 5. Both Polestar and Polyphony Digital, a subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment, granted each other unprecedented access to their development facilities and teams. The result was both brands working together to create a wholly accurate digital representation of Polestar 5.
Working especially closely with professional racing driver and sim-racer Igor Fraga, known for his experience and competitive lap times in Gran Turismo, the teams have faithfully translated the dynamic qualities of Polestar 5 into the game. Fraga was given special access to prototype Polestar 5 vehicles and R&D experts at Polestar’s development facilities in Sweden before final sign-off at the Brands Hatch circuit in the UK.
The top competitors will then be invited to Polestar Battersea for a live final event in early February, where they’ll race for the title of Polestar 5 UK Champion 2026. Further details of the final event will be shared in January.
The winner will receive an all-expenses paid holiday to Sweden, Polestar’s home country, featuring a road trip in the new Polestar 5 for up to 4 people.
Matt Galvin, Managing Director of Polestar UK said: “We’re excited to bring this Gran Turismo 7 competition to Polestar Spaces across the country and give customers a first taste of the Polestar 5 months before it arrives on UK roads. It’s a fun, accessible way for people to experience our new electric 4-door GT in a completely different setting, while adding a bit of healthy competition along the way. We can’t wait to see claims the crown as our very first Polestar 5 UK Champion!”
People who cannot attend a Space during the periods listed above can still experience Polestar 5 via Gran Turismo 7 in their own homes. Anyone with access can take part in a worldwide time trial on the virtual Brands Hatch circuit. The winner will receive an exclusive trip to Fukuoka, Japan, to attend the World Finals of the 2025 GT World Series**.
