Police And Crime Panel Seeks New Member

APPLICATIONS are being welcomed from residents within the force’s area to sit on the Cleveland Police and Crime Panel.

A vacancy exists for one independent co-opted member for this important and demanding role.

This is a real opportunity to be involved with the ongoing efforts to reduce crime and disorder across the Borough.

The panel works to provide independent challenge to the Cleveland Police and Crime Commissioner, who is required to consult with the panel on his plans and budget for policing.

The typical commitment required from panel members is, on average, one day every two months plus preparation time.

The panel generally meets at a venue in Stockton either in the late afternoons or early evenings. Panel members are able to claim reasonable travelling and subsistence expenses.

The successful applicant will receive a full induction and any other appropriate training.

Residents can call 01642 527060 or 01642 528173 for an application pack.

The closing date for applications is 6 March 2015.
