Screen Shot 2015-04-16 at 13.32.00A Northumberland PR agency has been appointed by a specialist energy developer to raise awareness of its new green power plant in the county.

Round Table Solutions will provide PR and marketing support to Estover Energy’s biomass combined heat and power (CHP) plant in Cramlington.  Construction is due to start in the summer of 2015 and on completion the plant will provide up to 27 megawatts of clean power to local businesses and to the national grid.

Commenting on the new business win, Round Table Solutions’ managing director John McCabe said:  “Estover Energy has an impressive track-record of developing, fuelling and financing biomass CHP plants to supply electricity and heat to large, industrial energy users.  This is a major new account win for Round Table Solutions and we’re looking forward to working with Estover Energy throughout the construction stage and on into the long-term operation of the plant.”

Estover Energy is developing a portfolio of similar projects in England and Scotland.  The plants use technologies that have proven to be highly efficient in reducing carbon emissions and cutting energy costs at hundreds of installations across Europe and Scandinavia.

Max Aitken, co-chief executive at Estover Energy said:  “Cramlington will be a very significant addition to our portfolio and we’re committed to developing a local talent and supply chain right across the business from the 50 plus jobs that will be created at the plant and in the supply chain when it is operational, to sourcing the low-grade wood necessary to fuel it.  We also want to ensure we hire the best possible professional support to work alongside our in-house team.  Round Table Solutions has just the expertise and credentials we were looking for so we’re excited to be working with John and his team.”

Round Table Solutions’ work with Estover Energy will include media relations, community engagement and marketing to ensure local residents and other stakeholders are aware of the benefits of the new plant.
