Screen Shot 2016-04-21 at 11.10.12Householders are getting a better deal on their energy bills through the Ryedale and Scarborough Council’s switching partner iChoosr.  The scheme is free to use, without obligation and makes it easy to switch energy provider, meaning many families will be able to fix their energy prices for the year ahead.

Residents who register for the Collective Switch are also being entered into a weekly prize draw.

This week’s prize winner, Mrs. Wilkinson, from Staxton, said “I hadn’t got round to switching, and I know that you should switch energy suppliers every year. I registered so that it could be done for me, it’s easier.  It’s fantastic that I have a new kettle when I needed one. “

Kim Robertshaw, Housing Services Manager added “We’re hoping for another really successful auction. Last time 98% of people registering were able to make savings on their energy bills, and the average saving per resident was £217 per year!”

The prize draw will take place every week throughout the registration period until it closes on 16th May.  Prizes include an energy efficient kettle, radiator fan or LED light bulbs.
