Road resurfacing work at Coxhoe

Durham County Council

Durham County Council is to resurface a section of the B6291 Front Street for the benefit of all road users.

The work will take place from Friday 5 August to Sunday 7 August, from 9am to 7pm on the Friday and 7am to 7pm on the Saturday and Sunday.

It will require a full closure of the stretch of road during those times, with signposted diversions in place.

The closure will be from north of Petterson Dale to the former level crossing.

A shuttle bus will be in operation providing connections with public bus services at Bowburn and Coxhoe (Red Lion) and access to central Coxhoe.

There will also be some disruption to public services with passengers advised to check the websites of the companies they travel with.

John Reed, the council’s head of technical services, said: “This work is part of our ongoing programme to maintain the road network across the county, for the benefit of all users.

“We are doing all we can to minimise disruption and we thank motorists in advance for their patience while the work is carried out.”
