The girl’s hockey and boy’s rugby teams at Kings Priory School, Tynemouth, are dressed to impress, thanks to a donation from Jarrow-based UTS Engineering Ltd.
The company has donated the full kit for the 15-strong hockey team and 26 members of the rugby squad.
UTS is a keen supporter of sports, being a long term sponsor of Dunston UTS Football club and also donates time and money to help other deserving causes.
Rob Snow, curriculum team leader at Kings Priory School, said: “On behalf of both the hockey and rugby teams we would like to thank UTS for its donation. The pupils identified and wrote to sponsors themselves.
“The girl’s hockey team competes in the Northumberland Hockey League, training after school on Monday nights and the boys participate in local matches with training on Wednesday afternoons.
“Both teams are doing well but need funding and support. Sport provides a fun and physically challenging outlet for pupils to break away from their learning and we would like to thank UTS Engineering for getting behind them.”
Managing director at UTS Engineering, Shaun Sadler, said: “The pupils are determined and committed to their teams and we wanted to ensure they have a kit that they were proud to wear. We wish them all the best of luck with their studies and with their fixtures for the season ahead.”
