Saks Sedbury raises £7,500 for women’s cancer charity

The hair and beauty team at Saks at Sedbury Hall has raised £7,500 for the Eve Appeal after hosting a special afternoon tea at Headlam Hall.

Guests enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea with a glass of prosecco last weekend, whilst listening to a live pianist. There was a silent auction with the top prize of a stay at Gayles Hall Barns Holiday Cottage going for £700. Other prizes included Sunday lunch for eight at Headlam Hall and a limited edition print donated by local academy award winning artist, Simon Palmer.

All Saks’ key suppliers kindly donated products for prizes and gifts, including GhD, Kerastase, Mii Makeup and Decleor. Kacao Chocolaterie and Rene Jewellery, based at Sedbury Stables, and Suehoo.com homeware and gifts, also ran stalls at the event.

The £7,500 raised now brings the salon’s fundraising total to £19,276, smashing their year-end target of £15,000.

Anna Clinton, owner of Saks at Sedbury Stables, said: “We were overwhelmed with the fantastic support we received from our clients, suppliers and local businesses at our afternoon tea. It was a fabulous afternoon in beautiful surroundings, and everyone dug deep to raise funds for such an important charity.”

All money raised from the event will go to the Eve Appeal, the Saks group’s nominated charity, which raises awareness and funds research into the five gynaecological cancers.

The salon’s next fundraiser will be a Christmas shopping evening at the Stables at Sedbury Hall on Tuesday 3rd December.
