North East Connected

Sammy comes to Shields

After delighting two full houses totalling 10,000 people at Newcastle Metro Radio Arena the cast of Sunday for Sammy will soon be seen in homes all across the country as the much anticipated DVD of the show is ready to hit the shops.

But before that, fans will have the chance to attend the premiere showing of the DVD at The Exchange in North Shields.

Sunday for Sammy, unofficially known as the Geordie Command Performance is a celebration of North Eastern culture staged to raise funds to support the next generation of North Eastern performers with training, expenses and equipment.

At the recent shows in February, audiences were entertained with appearances from the cast regulars while surprise guests included Brenda Blethyn and Johnny Vegas while musical highlights featured Trevor Horn singing “Video Killed The Radio Star,” Ralph McTell performing a poignant version of “Streets of London” and a crowd pleasing duet between Joe McElderry and North Shields born, Jersey Boys singer Ryan Molloy performing “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me.”

The DVD will be premiered on Sunday 15th April at 2pm. Tickets at £20 are available from Julie Clay on 0191-2531618 and the ticket price includes a copy of the DVD.
