A SPECIAL event giving fans one last chance to see the Great North Snowdogs is to be held next month.
And demand for tickets has been so high, organisers have announced a change of venue.
The Farewell Weekend, from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 December, will bring all 61 individually decorated large scale sculptures together under one roof and, to meet public demand, it will now be held at Gateshead International Stadium, Neilson Rd, Gateshead.
The organisers have advised that tickets are selling quickly and have urged those who wish to attend to secure their tickets to avoid disappointment.
“We have quite simply been inundated with ticket requests from people wanting to see the Snowdogs one last time,” said Jane Hogan, project lead at Newcastle-based St Oswald’s Hospice, which organised the fundraising initiative.
“Moving to Gateshead Stadium allows us to make more tickets available and offer ample on-site parking, along with easy access to public transport including a nearby Metro station and bus stops close by.”
Great North Snowdogs, held to raise funds for and awareness of the Children’s Service at St Oswald’s Hospice, Gosforth, has been the most successful trail of its kind ever staged by creative producers Wild in Art.
And the Farewell Event will also feature a Christmas market with stalls selling gifts, street food and Snowdog merchandise, along with the chance to win a car in the St Oswald’s Hospice Annual Raffle.
Anyone who has already purchased tickets will be contacted about the new venue and their tickets and time slots will still be valid for the new venue.
Ticket holders are advised to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the time stated on their ticket as queues are likely.
The time slots are not transferable and anyone who misses their time slot will require a new ticket. The tickets are limited and non-refundable.
The Farewell Weekend will take place on Friday 2 December, from 12pm to 7pm; on Saturday 3 December, from 9am to 5pmand on Sunday 4 December, from 9am to 4pm.
Tickets cost £3 each – subject to booking fees and VAT – and can be booked at www.greatnorthsnowdogs.co.uk/farewell-tickets
All profits from the Farewell Event will support the vital work of St Oswald’s Children’s Hospice.
The Snowdogs will then be sold at auction on Tuesday 6 December at Sage Gateshead to raise funds for St Oswald’s Children’s Service.
Tickets for the auction are available now from www.greatnorthsnowdogs.co.uk/auction
