School’s Out At St James’ Park

NORTH East partygoers are being urged to dig out their old school ties, plait their pigtails and prepare to head back to school for an 80s themed disco.

On Saturday, 28 March, Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events, which manages conferences and events at St James’ Park, is hosting a Back to School 80s disco at the Newcastle United ground.

Along with the chance to squeeze into their old uniforms, guests will enjoy a return to the 80s with hit tracks from the decade.

Sodexo Prestige’s team of award-winning chefs will also serve a traditional school dinner, rounded off with chocolate sponge pudding and pink custard.

Prizes will be given for the best 80s hairstyle and outfit and organisers have threatened detention for anyone who doesn’t wear their uniform on the night.

«The 80s might be the decade that style forgot, but it was a great time to be young in Newcastle,» said Samantha Doyle, area sales manager for Sodexo Prestige Venues & Events.

«It was the era of legends like Peter Beardsley and Gazza at St James’ Park and we intend to celebrate everything that made it special – from mullet hairstyles to the music. »

The Back to School 80s disco will take place from 7pm to 1am and tickets, which cost £16 each, can be booked by calling 0191 201 8525 or visitingwww.nufc.co.uk.
