SEAO Talent Partners to provide vital support for local family charity

Newcastle-based talent partnership consultancy, SEAO Talent Partners, has announced its charity partner for 2019 as NCT Mid Northumberland.

The National Childbirth Trust (NCT) is the UK’s largest charity for parents, offering information and support for parents throughout pregnancy and early years, campaigning to improve maternity care and services for new parents, and making sure that everyone is aware of services and activities in their area.

The Mid Northumberland branch was established in the summer of 2017, when a group of mums who had met on their antenatal course decided to work together and provide a network of support and services for local parents.

Sam Wall, recruitment director at SEAO, said: “It’s extremely important for us to ensure we are giving something back to the local community. We are a supportive business, which is proud to be associated with likeminded organisations who are here for the greater good.

“We wanted the first chosen charity to be close to our hearts; Rachel, our talent acquisition partner, has chaired the committee at NCT for a couple of years and the work they carried out for the families they have supported has been invaluable.

“As mums, we are all inspired and motivated by our little ones – they feature on our office walls and they are represented by the dots in our logo. We put our family values at the centre of everything we do at SEAO and so the fantastic North East parental support charity was a perfect fit for our Charity of the Year.”

SEAO will be supporting the charity with a Children’s Triathlon, where the little ones will seek sponsorship to complete a toddle/buggy push, cycle and swim – details of which are set to be announced later in the year.

The day will incorporate a family fun day with stalls, face painting and lots of other fun activities for families to get involved with. The SEAO team will be volunteering as stewards and taking along their families to support.

Money raised will go towards funding an extra support service for Northumberland children with additional needs, providing them and their parents with a safe space to meet up.

Sam continued: “Our values cement the way we work and the services we offer to both clients and candidates – with that leading the way is imperative. We are passionate about the importance of families and loved ones and the work NCT does really ties into our values perfectly.

“Our people will choose our charity partners on an annual basis and we will support them whole-heartedly throughout the year.”

The consultancy has plans to get involved with a variety of events with NCT throughout 2019, volunteering as event support wherever possible, details of which will be announced across social media and their website.

Rachel Shayer, branch coordinator at NCT Mid Northumberland, said: “We’re thrilled that SEAO have chosen NCT Mid Northumberland as their 2019 Charity Partner. With extra volunteers we’re able to achieve so much more at our events, really supporting our community of new and expectant parents. We’re so looking forward to the Children’s Triathlon this Summer, which is enabling us to reach children with additional needs and provide extra support to them and their parents, something we’ve, as yet, not had the resources to do.

“It would be fantastic to see as many people as possible join us and show their support for the Children’s Triathlon, sponsor the little ones, or follow NCT to stay up to date with our ongoing work.

“There are so many ways to get involved with NCT; we’re always looking for volunteers to host weekly walks, Mum and Baby meet ups and for our one-off events. There are also vacancies on the committee currently, if anyone has spare time for a good cause.

“There are also opportunities for businesses to get involved with us. We are keen to engage with businesses who are able to offer services such as storage rental, PR, photography, face painting, and entertainment at a reduced rate – support is always greatly appreciated.”
