The North East Employee of the Year Awards, which will hold its inaugural ceremony on Friday 17th June at the Grand Marquee at Wynyard Hall Hotel, provides an opportunity for staff at all levels to be rewarded for their hard work across the region.

Showcasing many aspects of employee talent will be the highlight of the evening and awards such as Unsung Hero and Outstanding Service will celebrate the fantastic efforts of those nominated.

The list of companies based across the region, which includes Ford Engineering, Middlesbrough College and the Crowne Plaza in Newcastle, was released on Wednesday (19 May) on the awards programme’s website.

The event is being run in partnership with Tesco Underwriting with additional sponsors including Sunderland College, Harvey & Hugo, George F. White, Go North East and Sharpe Recruitment.

The scheme was the brain child of leading North East event management company, She’s Gott It!, after listening to local businesses in their need to showcase the talent of the region’s employees.

She’s Gott it! managing director, Nickie Gott, said: “We were overwhelmed with the quality and quantity of the entries we received (over 200), it certainly wasn’t an easy task choosing the finalists.”

“Congratulations to all of those who have been shortlisted, and commiserations to those who didn’t quite make it, there’s always next year!”

“We would like to say a big thank you to those who took the time to nominate their colleagues and teams, it certainly fits with our ethos of showcasing outstanding work within organisations.”

Tickets to the ceremony on June 17 are still available, and can be bought online from!awards-ceremony/zm628
