Screen Shot 2015-07-31 at 09.18.48Staff at one of the North East’s most popular bistros will have no time for a siesta as diners are given more chances to enjoy a taste of sunny Spain.

The Beach House, overlooking Roker seafront, Sunderland, has been serving up an authentic array of tapas on selected Fridays throughout the summer – and is extending the offer by popular demand.

Following sell out events in May, June and July, the venue will now be hosting Tapas En La Casa De Playa (Tapas in the Beach House) on Friday August 25 and Friday September 28.

On both occasions diners will enjoy a reception drink with bread and olives on arrival, as well as their choice of four or six seasonal tapas dishes.

This includes options of spicy chorizo sausages, salt and pepper squid, chicken and ham croquettes, crispy whitebait, garlic and paprika potato wedges, vegetable empanadas and a selection of Spanish-style dips with country bread.

All visitors to the event, hosted by 1879 Events Management, will also receive a selection of traditional Spanish cured meats, served with mixed olives, Manchego cheese, olive oil, ciabatta and a sherry vinegar dip.

Gary Hutchinson, Director at 1879 Events Management, said: “Tapas En La Casa De Playa has proven extremely popular over the past few months. We hope that these additional dates in August and September will allow visitors to extend that holiday feeling and enjoy a taste of sunny Spain.”

Tapas En La Casa De Playa is priced at £14.50 per person for five items and £17 per person for seven items, which includes the diner’s choice of tapas and the traditional meat plate. Additional items can also be added at a cost of £3 each.
