Space Rebel Princess Jets off to Central Library

A STELLAR interactive performance for children and families jets in to Middlesbrough Central Library at the weekend.

Space Rebel Princess takes place on Saturday, July 1 as part of Middlesbrough Council’s arts programme dedicated to younger audiences.

The performance – aimed at children aged three to eight – tells the tale of a young princess who dreams of becoming an astronaut, though her parents have different plans for her.

With the help of the audience she must break free of the fears and preconceptions holding her back, and boldly go where no princess has gone before.

Children are encouraged to get involved, helping the princess to achieve her mission.

Inspired by Helen Sharman – the first person from the UK to travel in space – the performance seeks to empower young people to follow their dreams.

The show features dance by esteemed performer Jennifer Essex, who work as a choreographer, dancer and teacher across the UK and internationally.

She is accompanied by award-winning poet Harry Man.

Already performed at Young Fest in Leeds to great acclaim, the show will be in Middlesbrough for two shows only.
