The Family Hub at the Youth Direction One Stop Shop on Bishopton Lane in Stockton Town Centre has an experienced team on hand in person or on the telephone to help on a range of issues including family relationships, childcare and parenting as well as advice on finance, budgets, housing and much more.
For those wishing to talk with a member of staff face-to-face there are appointment rooms available to allow people to talk in private.
On Saturdays the Family Hub is open for people to drop in from 9am to 4pm. Staff are on hand to speak to parents and families on the telephone during opening hours on Saturday and also on Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
Over coming weeks and months staff will be running a series of Saturday sessions on a wide range of topics including health and wellbeing, cooking on a budget, early years, home improvements, volunteering and family activities.
Councillor Ann McCoy, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “The Family Hub is a free friendly service available to anyone in the Borough. With one to one advice and support from our experienced staff plus a wealth of information on other services across the Borough the Hub is a place where parents and their children can learn new skills, tackle problems or improve their family life. With toys, games and internet access available to entertain children and young people parents will be able to make the most of the support provided by the team.”
