Spectacular Fireworks Return to Stockton’s Riverside

STOCKTON’S annual fireworks display returns to dazzle the town’s Riverside on Sunday, 5 November.

The spectacular display is free to attend and always attracts thousands of residents and visitors to watch from the banks of the River Tees.

This year’s theme of ‘Epic Movie Songs’ celebrates some of the most iconic film scores and will feature a selection of songs from family favourites and cult classics, ending with a colourful finale to the hit song ‘Let It Go’ from Disney’s ‘Frozen’.

Live entertainment from BBC Tees will start the evening at 6pm followed by the main fireworks display from 7.30pm. Visitors can also enjoy a fairground in Parliament Street car park as well as a smaller children’s funfair at High Street car park and refreshments stalls at Bishop Street car park.

Councillor Norma Wilburn, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, said: “Our annual fireworks display is always a hugely popular event and this year’s theme of Epic Movie Songs is bound to be a hit with adults and youngsters alike.

“We’re very proud that the Council’s event is one of the biggest and best free fireworks displays in the country. It is also a much safer option than hosting your own fireworks display, so wrap up warm and come along to enjoy a fun and entertaining evening.”
