Between Monday March 9 and Thursday March 12 schools across the borough can book a visit by a top, North East magician as part of the South Tyneside International Magic Festival 2015.
There are three hour-long shows to choose from, including a general magic performance for all ages, a spellbinding look at various scientific principles for Key Stage 2 and a trick-based exploration of stranger danger and road safety for pupils at Key Stage 1 and below.
Each session is designed to be fun and interactive, with a more serious message conveyed underneath.
Councillor Alan Kerr, Deputy Leader of South Tyneside Council with responsibility for Culture and Leisure, said: “The schools programme is one of the most popular aspects of the annual South Tyneside International Magic Festival and was booked to capacity in 2014.
“This year we have three unique shows available and will accommodate as many schools as possible throughout the week-long event.”
The South Tyneside International Magic Festival, now in its 12th year, annually attracts professional magicians and magic fans from around the globe.
Along with the schools programme, this year’s event will also include two international gala shows and a Family Magic Extravaganza at the Customs House, South Shields.
Tickets for these events, priced from £7 each, are available now from the Customs House on 0191 4541234 orwww.thecustomshouse.co.uk.
Schools interested in booking a magic show are asked to contact the South Tyneside Council Events Team on 0191 424 7988 or daniel.lee@southtyneside.gov.uk. Bookings will be taken on a first come, first served basis and places are limited.
