Steins at the ready as Oktoberfest heads to County Durham

PULL on your lederhosen, grab a stein and get ready to celebrate Oktoberfest in County Durham.

Hardwick Hall is hosting an Oktoberfest Bier Keller night on Saturday October 1 inside a grand marquee in the hotel grounds.

The event is set to bring all of the magic of the famous Bavarian beer festival to County Durham, and already demand for tickets is high.

The night promises a musical journey to the heart of the Bavarian Bier Kellers with the emphasis on enjoying copious amounts of fine German beer.

The sights and sounds of a traditional German beer festival will be brought to life thanks to the Amazing Bavarian Stompers who will be getting the audience on their feet.

The Amazing Bavarian Stompers are a UK comedy Bavarian oompah band, who have appeared at major German beer festivals and now appear across the UK with their unique act.

Guests at the Hardwick Hall Oktoberfest can look forward to singing, dancing and swaying to the music while they enjoy beer and a classic Bratwurst.

The event will feature a number of guest beers, live music and DJ and steins will be available to purchase on the night. Fancy dress – particularly of the German variety – is actively encouraged.

John Adamson, Director of Ramside Estates, is excited about the event.

“We’ve had an amazing reaction so far to this Oktoberfest event and I think it is going to be a sell-out very soon,” he said.

“We’ll be bringing all of the magic of the traditional German beer festival to County Durham, complete with oompah music and Bratwursts – it’s going to be a fantastic night and everyone involved is very excited.

“Fancy dress is most certainly encouraged, and we can’t wait to see the people of the North East don their lederhosen and join us for a night of hilarious fun, great music and fine beer.”

Tickets for the Hardwick Hall Oktoberfest cost £12 and include a traditional bratwurst and a pint of lager. To book call 01740 620 253 or email info@hardwickhallhotel.co.uk.
