Stockton Announces 2015 Bumper Programme Of Specialist Markets

STOCKTON Council has launched its latest specialist markets programme with a promise that it will be bigger and better than ever.

This year’s specialist market programme will bring even more quality products and tempting tasty treats all to the heart of Stockton’s High Street – the new home of all the 2015 specialist markets.

The packed programme offers more variety than ever before and with entertainment and refreshments available at each market there will be plenty to do and see.  Familiar favourites such as Chic Vintique and the Farmers’ Market are joined by a host of exciting new markets including a Food Festival, Book Fair, Ka-Pow (Sci-Fi) Family Fun Day and a Retro Market.

Last year Stockton Sparkles Christmas Market was the first to be held on the newly regenerated High Street and more than 7,000 people flocked to browse the stalls, making it Stockton’s biggest ever specialist market.  Stockton Council are hoping to build on this success giving residents and visitors alike the opportunity to experience a range of unique and exciting markets and enjoy a free and fun day out.

Councilllor Mike Smith, Stockton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport, said: “After a bumper year of specialist markets, Stockton Council has another jam-packed programme on its way. Stockton Sparkles market created a bustling atmosphere perfect for shoppers, families and visitors and we are looking to recreate that buzz throughout 2015 with something for everyone in the heart of the high street.  Make sure that you take a look at the programme and make a note in your diary for all the markets heading this way.”

Stockton Council is appealing for people interested in trading at any of the markets email claire.frawley@stockton.gov.uk or telephone 01642 526473.

The specialist markets programme is designed to complement what the popular traditional market has to offer, attracting visitors and shoppers into the town.
