Stockton Fireworks are Set to Thrill Film Fans

FANS of films and fireworks are in for a spectacular evening at Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s fireworks display on Sunday (5 November).

The evening of free entertainment will begin with a special BBC Tees Radio Roadshow presented by Neil Green and Amy Oakden featuring special guests and musical performances.

This year’s theme of ‘Epic Movie Songs’ will set a musical backdrop to the spectacular fireworks display with songs from classic films including Jaws, James Bond, Dirty Dancing, Harry Potter, Superman, Frozen and more.

The BBC Tees roadshow will get under way at 6pm followed by the main fireworks spectacular from 7.30pm.

Councillor Norma Wilburn, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, said: “Thousands of people visit Stockton every year to watch our spectacular fireworks and this year’s display is set to be another fantastic event with something for everyone to enjoy.

“Our annual fireworks are a highlight on our events calendar and this free organised event is a much safer option than trying to set up your own fireworks display. It’s also one of the biggest and best free fireworks displays in the country so I’d encourage you all to come along to watch from the Riverside and town centre.”

Residents and visitors are asked to note that car park closures, road closures and restrictions will be in place across Stockton from Saturday, 4 November to Monday, 6 November.
