The Hot Housing Index 2015, compiled by location specialists CACI, rates Stockton-on-Tees as the 26th most desirable place to live nationally when it comes to affordability, school provision and local amenities.
This latest announcement has been made just three weeks after the Telegraph and Hamptons International named Stockton-on-Tees the fifth best place to live based on house price-to-income ratios and the Life Satisfaction Index.
Councillor Bob Cook, Leader of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, said: “This new research comes as no surprise to us as we know Stockton Borough is a great place to live, work and do business – to be ranked as one of the best areas to live in the UK is further evidence of this.
“There is so much to be proud of in Stockton-on-Tees, from our excellent events programme to our beautiful green spaces and our regenerated town centres in Stockton, Thornaby, Yarm and Billingham.
“And, in addition to all of this, we are working closely with Tees Valley Unlimited to support business and encourage long-term investment as well as sustainable job opportunities.”
