It is just over two weeks until the launch of this year’s Stockton Sparkles festival and already larger than life decorations are arriving in the Town Centre.
Yesterday (8 November) a gigantic dazzling gift box was positioned above the Shambles Market Hall, meanwhile a giant glittering bauble was placed on Dovecot Street.
They will be among several extra-large, illuminated installations which will form part of this year’s spectacular festive lighting.
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, Councillor Norma Wilburn, said: “Stockton Town Centre will look magical this Christmas. The giant gift box and bauble are just the first of an array of extra-large decorations which will make Stockton Town Centre glisten.
“Anyone who visits Stockton Town Centre in the run up to Christmas is in for a treat. The town will be a shimmering winter wonderland this year – a perfect back drop for shopping, socialising or simply soaking up the fantastic festive atmosphere.”
The super-sized decorations will be switched on during the launch of Stockton Sparkles which will take place between 5.30pm and 7pm on Thursday 26 November.
