Tails are Wagging for Charity Dog Walk and Show

FOUR-LEGGED friends are warmly invited to take part in Paws for a Cause, St Cuthbert’s Hospice’s annual sponsored dog walk and show on Sunday 5th March.

The walk will take place around Riverside Park, Chester-le-Street with two route options available, either 1.5 or 3 miles. Each dog will receive a doggy goody bag, rosette and certificate on completion. There will be a variety of stalls to browse selling dog treats, pet supplies and lots more.

Sheela Bell, Senior Community & Events Fundraiser at St Cuthbert’s Hospice said “We’re so pleased to be bringing Paws for a Cause back this year. The event is always lots of fun for everyone involved. We are really proud that as a Hospice we are pet friendly and patients are able to bring their pets in for visits. We understand how important animals can be, to many people they are a member of the family. It’s great to be able to put together an event that four legged friends can take part in too.”

As well as the 1.5 mile or 3 mile dog walk there will be there will be a fun Dog Show where we hope to find canine contests including Durham’s Happiest Dog, Best Fancy Dress Dog, Prettiest Pooch (females) and Handsome Hound (males).

Registration for the walk is £10 per dog – Humans go free! Entry to the Dog Show is £1 per category per dog.
