There are still a few slots left for the Stroke Association’s first ever Zombie Zip Slide from the iconic Tees Transporter Bridge on Sunday, November 1.
Daredevils will have the opportunity to ascend 210 steps to the top of the 104-year-old structure before zip sliding 600ft across the River Tees.
Stroke Association Regional Fundraiser Lauren Flint said: “This is the first time we’ve ever held the zip slide at the Transporter and it’s set to be one of our most daring and exciting events yet.
“For those who are brave enough to take part, why not get into the life and soul of the event, and zip while wearing Halloween-themed fancy dress?
“With around 152,000 strokes a year in the UK – that’s one every three and a half minutes – it is vital that we have people who can raise funds for people affected by stroke.
“We’re calling for thrill-seekers across the North East to take on this exhilarating opportunity, all while raising much needed funds. Together we can conquer stroke.”
Over 5,500 people have a stroke in the North East each year, and more than 16,200 people in the area are living with a disability after a stroke.
The entry fee for the Stroke Association Zombie Zip Slide is £15, with a minimum sponsorship target of £95.
