Teesside’s leading firm of commercial solicitors has recently assisted in the completion of the UK’s new multi-million-pound waterpark.

Endeavour Partnership, based at Teesdale, worked with Benchmark Leisure on the development of Scarborough’s Alpamare waterpark, which opened at the end of July.

Endeavour Partnership’s team of commercial property experts, headed by partner Simon Wake, have worked with Benchmark Leisure on the long-term development scheme since 2003 advising on various issues. These have included negotiating a number of supplementary agreements with Scarborough Borough Council relating to various phases of the development, dealing with flat sales and retail leases in the first phase of the development and negotiating leases and agreements with other users.

The £14 million Alpamare waterpark overlooks Scarborough’s North Bay and features the UK’s longest and fastest waterslides. The attraction also boasts a giant indoor wave pool, an outdoor garden pool and infinity pool with massage jets, whirlpools and bubble benches, an indoor area for younger children with more than 35 interactive features and an outside terrace overlooking Scarborough’s coastline and landscaped gardens with sunbeds, pool bar and restaurant.

Simon Wake, partner and head of Endeavour Partnership’s Commercial Property team, said: “The Alpamare development has been incredibly exciting to work on as it has been in the planning for many years and it is very important to Scarborough Borough Council in its efforts to keep its visitor attractions vibrant and fresh. It has been a multi-faceted project for Endeavour on which we have been working with Benchmark Leisure for many years on virtually all aspects relating to the development scheme as a whole.”

Roland Duce, from Benchmark Leisure, said: “Alpamare is one of the most exciting new attractions to open in the North of England for many years. It has been a long time in the planning and Endeavour Partnership’s team has been with us for most of the project, advising on various elements. The whole process has been efficient and, despite a number of challenges over the years, the team made it straightforward for us to progress with this exciting project thanks to their enthusiasm and exceptional knowledge.”
