TEESSIDE YOUNG ARCHITECT TAKES A (SKY)DIVE FOR LOCAL CHARITY

A talented young Teesside architect has designs on helping a local charity for older people after completing her first skydive fundraiser.

Seanine Hasson, 26, who works as an architectural technologist at Stockton on Tees’ Studio Anyo, leapt out of the plane at 15,000 feet last week-end at Shotton airfield and skydive centre in County Durham to land more than £1,000 boost for Age UK Teesside.

Miss Hasson (above in white), who is originally from Derry in Northern Ireland but is a graduate of Northumbria University, said: “I was definitely a little nervous. However, I very much wanted to take up the challenge to support Age UK, who are our preferred charity.

“They do some fantastic work and need as much support as possible. We all know someone who is  older and can benefit from a little extra charity help. I was so pleased to do my bit and thank you to everyone who supported me and gave so generously.”

Age UK Teesside is an independent charity working across the region to offer support and services to older people. This includes help to improve finances and quality of life as well as campaigning and lobbying on a range of issues of interests to older people.

Anne Sykes, chief executive of Age UK Teesside, said: “Well done to Seanine. It takes some courage to skydive but it was kind of her to think of others and take on this challenge to help us out. The money she raised will be a big help and much appreciated as we continue to support older people across Teesside.”
