Teessiders have their Cake and Eat it

Middlesbrough Sweet Tooth Delivery dessert parlourA FAST-GROWING North East chain of innovative eateries has added Middlesbrough to its expanding business.

Award-winning Sweet Tooth Delivery was set up in Durham in 2009, initially to deliver cake late at night to hungry students.

But the demand for the unique cakes became so high that owners Kayley Smith and John-Paul Stonehouse started to develop the business to include dessert parlours and take outs.

With two outlets in Durham and one in Sunderland – and a further one planned – Sweet Tooth Delivery has now landed at Linthorpe Road, offering a range of signature cakes, waffles, cheesecakes and shakes, all made by the company’s own bakery team.

And for anyone who needs a late night sugar rush, the Middlesbrough branch is also offering a home delivery service.

Favourites are the Sweet Tooth Delivery seven-layer Skittles Rainbow Cake with other top sellers including a triple chocolate cake and a peanut butter and Aero mint chocolate cake.

“We decided that we wanted Middlesbrough to be a location for one of our stores because we have a lot of people from Teesside coming to our parlour in Durham,” said Kayley.

“We’re delighted that it’s becoming so popular and that people are appreciating the fact that everything we offer is made in our own bakery.”
