ARC’s innovative giving scheme, A Theatre Trip for Every Child, now has the backing of 14 corporate businesses and over 200 local residents.
The scheme has already enabled whole classes of Year One pupils, from five different Stockton primary schools, to have their first experience of live theatre performance at ARC.
Santander Foundation is the latest organisation to make a donation as part of its staff fundraising matched donations scheme.
Amy Slack, Santander Foundation Manager, said:
“Employees at Santander’s Stockton branch are members of a choir and their annual Christmas Carol event raises money for good causes so they decided that, this time, their efforts could benefit local children through ‘A Theatre Trip for Every Child’.
Amy added:
“Santander Foundation matched the money the employees raised to enable even more five year olds to visit the theatre so we are very pleased to be involved with the scheme.”
Santander Foundation now brings to the number of businesses addressing their corporate social responsibility through ARC’s charitable activities to 14.
Gill Adams, ARC’s Every Child Campaign Manager, said:
“It’s such a pleasure to be delivering ‘A Theatre Trip for Every Child’ because it’s an innovative way to bring down any barrier to accessing the arts. If a child is enabled to visit theatre, particularly if it’s for the first time and with the whole class, that experience stays with them and makes their next trip so much easier.”
Gill added:
“Over 200 individuals have donated tickets and the businesses involved include: Baines Jewitt, Erimus Insurance, Hewitts Solicitors, KP Snacks, PEP Ltd., SK Chilled Foods, Stainton Lighting Design Services, and Thirteen Group which is incredible and demonstrates massive goodwill in Stockton.”
Businesses and individuals can donate to the scheme by calling ARC box office on 01642 525199.
