TOP BATHROOM DESIGN TRENDS THAT YOU’LL WANT TO TRY NOW

2020 is in full swing, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get in on some of this year’s biggest bathroom design trends. If you’re looking for more ways to improve your bathroom and property price or simply want to treat yourself to a new addition, get some ideas and inspiration with these renovation trends.

Back in black

This trend has been simmering under the surface for quite some time but has finally broken onto the scene. Black fixtures are a big thing, as they look sleek, hide dirt and fingerprints better (especially with a matt finish) and really make a bathroom pop. Most homeowners are updating their bathroom basin mixers to a darker colour, particularly if the ones they like are easy to find online. Showerheads, towel rails, and soap dispensers are also being modernised if you go with the black theme for the entire bathroom.

Statement basin

If you’re changing your taps or mixer, you may as well go ahead and change the basin at the same time. We’re seeing less of your typical white inset basins, however, and more of a shift to basins of all different materials, shapes, and colours. A rounded stone basin on a wooden vanity is trending right now and gives your bathroom a designer finish worthy of any Architectural Digest front cover. Tempered glass also provides a cool look that will stand the test of time.

Ofuro tubs

If you haven’t heard about Japanese ofuro bathtubs yet, then hopefully none of your neighbours have either and you can be the first! These tubs are round and small, yet quite deep. They’re also designed to sit vertically, and there’s a bench seat integrated within the design. This provides your bathtub experience with more of a spa feeling that lets you soak sore muscles easily while you sip a tea and read a book.

Exciting floor tiles

This trend involves moving away from uniform black or white square tiles for your bathroom floor. Wild, bold, and colourful floor tiles in hexagonal shapes are emerging right now, raising quite a few eyebrows in the bathroom world. Most people will think about their bathroom walls when renovating, but patterned tiles on the floor should take a priority in 2020 and will provide a unique and unforgettable look. Let your creativity loose and have some fun!
