Geolin First Aid Training Services was set up by first aid trainer and assessor George Sharp four years ago after he spent years working with St John Ambulance in the UK, Australia and New Zealand and for the charity, Red Cross.
Now George, who works alongside wife Linda, has moved the business into Tanfield Lea Business Centre, near Stanley, County Durham, with a view to eventually taking on staff.
The business teaches and assesses all aspects of first aid, including First Aid at Work, Paediatric first aid and Driver CPC first aid. As well as clients such as Rolls-Royce, offshore company Fabricom and Hotel Industry Training, George has delivered first aid training to employees of Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury’s.
Said George: “We work with anyone from a two-person outfit to multi-million pound companies.
We’ve got many years of experience in first aid training and assessing and we thought it was time to move the business on.
“Moving into Tanfield means we can look to take on staff in the future. We love it here. They’re very modern offices and we have the space we need and parking spaces to offer training sessions.”
Tanfield Lea Business Centre is managed by Business Durham, the economic development company for County Durham, one of the biggest commercial property landlords in the North East.
Simon Goon, managing director for Business Durham, said: “Tanfield Lea Business Centre is the perfect place for Geolin – they have the contemporary offices they need but also the training space. It’s also perfectly placed for when they travel around the region and beyond. We look forward to seeing them go from strength to strength.”
