A technology solutions provider has made a multi-million-pound acquisition as part of a major growth strategy.

Technology Services Group (TSG), one of the UK’s premier mid-market business tech partners, has completed the purchase of Dayta to strengthen its presence in the burgeoning education market.

One of the UK’s fastest-growing multi-academy trust technology providers with 17 staff, Aylesbury-headquartered Dayta provides accountancy software and other financial management solutions to schools and multi-academy trusts throughout the country. All of Dayta’s staff will become TSG employees and the deal will also create additional jobs at TSG.

The business is an ideal fit for TSG, given the company’s existing strength providing business applications and ERP software to the SME segment. This is complemented by the delivery of flexible training programmes through its dedicated learning platform, the TSG Academy, which contributes to market-leading Net Promoter Score (NPS), a metric used in customer experience programmes, of +85.

Acquiring Dayta marks the next phase of TSG’s expansion, which saw CEO Rory McKeand and his leadership team partner with Pictet Alternative Advisors to acquire the business earlier this year. Now TSG is looking to further grow the business via organic expansion and a series of strategic acquisitions. . This comes after TSG recorded double-digit growth in turnover and profits and saw its employee base expand to more than 250 staff. With offices in Newcastle, London and Glasgow, the company has established itself as one of the UK’s leading Microsoft Solution Partners, helping organisations to invest in their IT environment and assist clients in their transition to the cloud. TSG is a national player, serving clients across the UK and encompassing a wide range of sectors.

Rory McKeand, TSG CEO who spent five years working at NCFE, the education charity, said: “We’re delighted to have completed this key strategic acquisition in order to grow our existing footprint in the education sector. Dayta has a strong pedigree serving education customers, with a growing client portfolio of schools and multi-academy trusts that we will work with to strengthen our position in this key market.

“Dayta is a high-quality business that is well known for its technology expertise and high levels of customer service. Their business aligns neatly with the values of our company and its customers will be able to empower its educators and learners through our TSG Academy, which has worked with more than 500 organisations and delivered training to over 4,000 individuals. All Dayta customers will have access to our unique TSG Academy training to enable them to understand and get the best out of their technology.

“Now that the acquisition is complete, there will be a seamless integration of Dayta’s clients into our business and no interruption in the high levels of service provided to them.”

Samantha Ayres, director at Dayta, said: “We are thrilled to get this deal over the line. We know TSG well and there’s a fantastic synergy between the two organisations. Our business was established with the aim of helping organisations streamline their operations through technology, a priority shared by TSG. They’re a Microsoft and cloud-focused national IT services provider of outstanding quality and we’re happy to be a part of their future growth trajectory.”
