TTE celebrates successful Independent School Inspectorate Re-accreditation

The TTE Technical Training Group has achieved success in its latest Educational Oversight inspection through the Independent Schools Inspectorate.

The Middlesbrough-based training provider achieved an ‘excellent’ for its students’ welfare, including health and safety, and a ‘good’ grading across a variety of other categories, for the 2017 inspection round.

This latest achievement follows on from TTE’s last OFSTED inspection, which resulted in it becoming the only Grade 2 Engineering and Process training provider in the Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland area, and the renewal of its ISO 9001: 2015 certification and for the first time, achieving ISO 14001: 2015 for environmental management.

Primarily, the Educational Oversight inspection focuses on the quality of the curriculum, teaching and learners’ achievements, students’ welfare, including health and safety, the effectiveness of governance, leadership and management andwhether the published standards are being met. Inspection includes observation of classes, examination of students’ work, interviews with both students and staff, and analysis of the provider’s documentation.

The report praised TTE’s premises as secure, well-equipped and well-maintained. Detailed Health and Safety policies and procedures, described as ‘excellent’ are very effectively implemented and regular safety checks are carried out to ensure that high standards of Health and Safety are maintained.

Attendance levels at TTE were ‘excellent’ and admission and attendance records are accurately maintained and appropriately managed. The report also praised the pastoral and welfare support available in addition to the induction arrangements and calendar of social events.

Student achievement was also highlighted as very good and a large majority of students complete their courses and successfully gain their qualifications.

TTE achieved a ‘good’ rating for the quality of the curriculum and the way in which students are effectively placed on the most appropriate courses to meet their goals.

The tutors were regarded as vocationally experienced, qualified and plan learning that makes good use of a range of high-quality learning resources.

The report also highlighted the effectiveness of TTE’s governance, leadership and management as “good” and senior leaders provide effective strategic and operational oversight. The management structures in place are well defined with clear roles and responsibilities.

Steve Grant, Managing Director at TTE said, “I am thrilled to see that that the efforts of our staff and learners have been recognised in the latest Educational Oversight report.

“As a training provider, we are constantly developing our programmes and services to suit the needs of our learners and partner companies across a range of different industries. We will continue to strive for high standards, which are reflected in the accreditations and report ratings we achieve.”
