Two leading NE businesses partner to offer raft of employee benefits

Redu, the North East’s leading specialist marketing and tech business, has partnered with Hays Travel to roll out its innovative Reward Me Now employee benefits app to its 5,400 staff members.

Hays Travel, the UK’s largest independent travel agent, recently saved thousands of jobs at Thomas Cook and has now given employees a further boost by launching a tailored Hays Travel Employee Rewards service which is accessible on staff mobiles.

Reward Me Now is the UK’s first free employee benefits scheme, offering businesses a free branded app to secure their staff exclusive discounts at over 100 top UK retailers.

The Reward Me Now partnership with Hays Travel launched in January 2020 and over half (54 per cent) of the 5,400 Hays Travel staff signed up in the first week. The platform offers up to 18 per cent savings across a wide range of high street brands with Currys PC World, Virgin Experience Days and Debenhams being the most popular brands of the Hays Travel workforce so far, with one top user already saving over £90 in the first month.

Reward Me Now created a bespoke Hays Travel Rewards platform, which was designed in the travel firm’s own corporate branding.

The Hays partnership follows a series of high-profile contract wins for Reward Me Now, which also provides employee perks apps for Durham-based insurance firm Honcho and Sunderland’s Business Improvement District (BID).

Hays Travel, which recently saved all 555 Thomas Cook stores, protecting the jobs of more than 2,000 employees, has hailed the partnership a huge success.

Helen Liddle, Head of Human Resources at Hays Travel, said:We are constantly exploring the market for benefits that can attract, retain and engage our staff but most importantly give employees a financial or health and wellbeing benefit that is a unique perk of working for Hays Travel.

“It is often difficult to find a platform which is free for both the company and the employee so you can imagine our delight when fellow North East business Reward Me Now got in touch to offer this amazing app.”

The new app allows Hays to reward and recognise employees for their hard work without any expense to the company as the scheme has no set-up fee or monthly charge to the employer.

Employees also receive discounts at over 130 high street stores and online brands, including Asda, Pizza Express, Asos and Argos, with regular users already on track to save over £500 a year.

“Hays Travel Rewards went live in January and we have already had an incredible uptake, with over half of the staff enrolling already, creating a real buzz around the workplace, said Helen.

“It’s great to see how much our employees have already saved across so many retailers and they are already talking about how much they are likely to save in the future.”

Jonathan Ward, Reward Me Now Partnerships Manager, said:We’re delighted to partner with the team at Hays Travel in rolling out Hays Travel Rewards to their staff.

“Supporting other North East businesses is an important part of our ethos at Reward Me Now, which we are able to do with our free employee benefit scheme.

“The launch with Hays Travel has seen thousands of employees signing up to take advantage of our top retailer discounts, supported hugely by Helen and the team.

“We look forward to supporting even more businesses and employees as we continue to grow, saving them money at both company and employee level.”

Reward Me Now was launched in 2018 by Seaham-based firm Redu. Founded by local entrepreneurs Gary Hunter and Sam Morton, Redu has built a UK audience of over 3m consumers since 2014 across a variety of money saving brands.
