Two New Faces Join Parkdean Resorts’ Growing HR Team

TAKING on newly created senior roles within the human resources department at Parkdean Resorts’ central support office in Gosforth are Claire Buckingham and Carla O’may.

Joining the HR team to drive forward the holiday park operator’s people-first approach, the pair will implement strategies to develop and retain talent within the business, whilst attracting future stars.

Claire, who is originally from Hexham, takes up a new position as Head of Reward and Recognition following 28 years with John Lewis.

She will use her experience to oversee the company’s reward package, whilst enhancing its recognition offering; which currently includes an Elite Trip for star performers, and awards for reaching milestone years of service, excellent customer service and outstanding contributions.

Carla, who relocated to the North East from Scotland 32 years ago, has been appointed as the company’s first Head of Executive Development.

Having worked in a variety of areas within HR in industries within public and private sector organisations, she will support the development needs of people across the company to encourage them to grow with the business. This will involve introducing new training and development programmes for Parkdean Resorts’ leaders throughout the UK.

Maggie Pavlou, Director of HR at Parkdean Resorts, said: “As a large employer of over 7,000 people during peak season, our people really are the heart of our business, and the appointments of Claire and Carla in these newly created roles show our commitment to their needs.

“Joining us ahead of the start of the 2018 holiday season, they will be key in delivering new initiatives across the company to enhance our credentials as an exciting and attractive place to work.”
