Architect and owner of Fenham Hall Studios, Peter Lambert, has enticed Alan Proto, founder of Cheshire-based PhantomFlightSchool to his office facilities just outside central Newcastle to offer a hands on masterlcass on the business benefits of camera drone tech.
Drone Day One will take place at Fenham Hall Studios on Tuesday May 3rd and is aimed at those in surveying and construction and the creative industries. It will offer attendees the chance to better understand how drones can be used to improve their own respective client solutions.
Lambert, who manages the office space in the historic grounds of Fenham Hall, has used modern drone technology to promote the available office space there and has just completed his CAA-approved drone camera operators’ training.
He explained: “I’ve always been keen to explore new technologies and drones have progressed dramatically in recent years. Drone Day One was initially designed as an event for our tenants at Fenham Hall Studios. We have creative agencies and a number of operations related to the surveying and construction sector too, so it would have been very relevant to them.
“We realised, however, that drone tech is still very new for a number of people within these sectors. Drone imagery has huge potential, so we’re opening this out to other businesses who may want to find out more.”
With a number of scare stories around the misuse of drones, the Civil Aviation Authority introduced guidelines and strict training processes before granting licences to operate them commercially. Alan Proto was one of the first in the UK to complete his Remote Pilot Theory Certificate and Operations Manual for the CAA, and is acknowledged as one of the most skilled camera-drone pilots, having secured the highest marks to date in his flight test.
Alan will be partnering Fenham Hall Studio based creative agency, The Roundhouse, utilising their own digital facilities to showcase the HD images and videos that can be captured by a range of drones to event attendees on the ground.
Digital director at The Roundhouse, Michael Armstrong, said: “Drone technology has advanced rapidly and we’re very happy to be able to offer our facilities for Drone Day One at Fenham Hall Studios. We’re just as keen to see their capabilities so we’re really looking forward to the day.”
The event will take place at Fenham Hall Studios, just off Fenham Hall Road on Tuesday May 3, from 10am. Places will be on a first come, first served basis and can be booked via https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/fenham-hall-studios-drone-day-one-tickets-24616435421.
