Unlock Organisational Success with Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at the Upcoming Conference Hosted by Square One Law

Square One Law is hosting an innovative conference on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) designed to empower and equip businesses with the tools and strategies necessary to create inclusive, high-performing organisations.

The conference will take place on Thursday, May 18th at The Catalyst in Newcastle and will target business leaders eager to harness the power of ED&I to enhance organisational effectiveness.

Joanne Lockwood, a renowned inclusion and belonging specialist, will be the keynote speaker, illuminating how true equity, diversity, and inclusion can significantly improve organisational performance. Joanne will share insights on driving metrics and measurements to track progress, recognising the value of accessible recruitment techniques, and the critical role of inclusive leaders and positive culture in building success across an organisation.

Joanne said: “I’m delighted to be the keynote speaker and to be able to share my insights on how ED&I can drive organisational success. When implemented effectively, ED&I initiatives can create a culture of inclusivity and innovation, leading to improved performance across the board.

“I look forward to sharing best practices and practical strategies for engaging the entire team, from the boardroom to the front lines, and helping organisations unlock their full potential.”

Delegates will have the opportunity to participate in discussions led by esteemed experts in the ED&I field, including Dr Lucy Reynolds of We Are All Disabled, Dr Nicola Patterson and Dr Amy Stabler of Newcastle University, and representatives from Prima Cheese, the winner of the NEECC Diversity and Inclusion Award 2022.

The conference will conclude with a panel discussion, which features a diverse group of experts, including Nicolina Andall (Solicitor, NED and D&I Advocate), Michael Nicholas MBE (Diversity & Inclusion Manager at Northumbrian Water), and Brenda McLeish OBE (CEO of Learning Curve Group).

This dynamic conversation will encourage businesses across the region to embrace and celebrate differences, fostering a sense of belonging within their organisations.

Jean-Pierre van Zyl, Head of Employment at Square One Law, expressed the firm’s dedication to creating a fair, inclusive, and diverse culture: “We’ve seen that diversity improves creativity and organisational resilience, while our inclusive culture means people are happier and also more productive at work.

“By fostering understanding and equipping attendees with practical insights, the ED&I conference presents a great opportunity to not only recognise the importance of ED&I but also to develop key strategies that can be applied within our teams, unlocking the multitude of benefits that come with a truly inclusive workplace.”
