Vertu Honda Newcastle helps raise thousands for The Newcastle Eagles Community Foundation

A team from Vertu Honda Newcastle, along with owners and staff from The Newcastle Eagles Basketball Team, has climbed Scotland’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, raising more than £3,500 for the team’s community fund.

With an early start of 7:45am, ‘Team Eagles’ began the trek up the iconic mountain, reaching the summit at 1,345 metres above sea level just before lunch time.

The team of eight included Honda Branch Manager Chad Ridley and his wife, Victoria, Eagles Managing Director Paul Blake, CEO Sam Blake, Community Coach Anthony Forrester, along with Susan Hunter, Taylor Rendles, and Kerry Johnson – Eagles Community Staff Members.

Ridley, said: “Vertu Honda is already proud sponsors of the Newcastle Eagles Basketball Team, having provided players with cars for the year already. The Newcastle Eagles Community Foundation raises money to purchase equipment for our community area which is currently being built. This new area will make a huge difference to those living locally and so we were really keen to support the initiative. My son, Myles, also plays for the Mini Eagles under 8s and therefore we had a personal reason to get involved too. The money raised is a great amount already and there’s still more coming in.”
