Visitor Boards in Norton-on-Derwent

Screen Shot 2016-05-27 at 11.05.31A partnership effort to raise the profile of one of Ryedale’s market towns and welcome visitors looks set to be a great success.

Ryedale District Council and Norton Town Council have just unveiled two new information boards which will help visitors enjoy the market town and to find tourist information about Ryedale.

The two signs located on Church Street have been designed with new images of the local area, text and maps to help people make the most of Norton and the surrounding Ryedale area. The new ‘QR’ graphic takes smart phone users directly to the www.visitryedale.co.uk website for information on accommodation, events and attractions in the area.

The signs were created by Norton-based company Ten Fathoms, designers of the visitor information boards recently produced for Kirkbymoorside and at Malton Railway Station.

Ryedale District Council’s Visitor Economy Officer, Craig Nattress said: “The new information boards in Norton have been designed to showcase the town's history and improve the visitor experience whilst also highlighting the diversity the wider area has to offer.”
