Both events will showcase different volunteering roles on offer within the council.

Cllr Carl Quartermain, Cabinet Member for Jobs, Skills and Leisure at Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, said:

“If you are looking to fill a few hours at the weekend or make a major contribution to a local community group, there are lots of opportunities to volunteer in Redcar and Cleveland.

“Volunteering can help you make friends, learn new skills, advance your career and even stay healthy.

“I would like to thank all the dedicated volunteers in our borough who commit their time and efforts into making Redcar and Cleveland a great place to live and visit; the contribution they make, come rain or shine, is invaluable.”

Trish Waters, RCVDA Volunteer Officer, said: “Volunteers are central to the work of our organisations and groups and are a valuable presence in our community.  Over 20 voluntary organisations will be joining forces to showcase the scope of volunteering opportunities on offer in Redcar and Cleveland ranging from befriending, youth work, administration, gardening, DIY and trusteeship”.
