Voting is open for retail awards

L-R Chris Milburn from Wagamama, Amy Toytekin from TGI Friday and Georgia Fragkouli from Yo SushiSHOPPERS are being urged to cast their votes in a search to find the best retailer, leisure outlets and restaurants at the region’s leading shopping centre – with a prize for one lucky voter.

The annual intu Metrocentre Retailer Awards is designed to recognise the achievements of its stores and staff members.

And now the centre is calling on shoppers to go online and vote – with a chance to win a £250 intu Metrocentre gift card.

Voters can choose from 11 categories, including best menswear, ladieswear, health and beauty, jewellery and footwear and accessories store of the year.

They can also vote for their favourite large and small stores, specialist store and leisure and catering operator with a further prize for Newcomer of the Year.

There is also a World Class Service award, designed to honour staff members who go above and beyond the call of duty to make the guest’s shopping experience extra special.

Over the past 12 months a number of leading big name retailers, such as stationery store Smiggle, Cath Kidston as well as nine new restaurants in the Qube development, have opened at intu Metrocentre, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this autumn.

“Everyone has their favourite store or restaurant or their favourite staff member and this is their chance to reward that retailer or employee for all their hard work,” said intu Metrocentre marketing manager Helen Atkinson.

“We now offer our guests more than 300 stores, across a massive 2 million square feet of retail space, so these awards promise to be bigger and better than ever.”
