Young winger Ryan Nelson has left Ebac Northern League side Washington FC for a professional move to Valdres FK in Norway’s Second division.

Ryan who moved to the mechanics earlier this season from Scottish side Queen of The South is delighted to be heading back to professional football but with a heavy heart in leaving Washington.

Ryan said, “When I left Queens it was great to come to a club like Washington, they have good people in charge and quality in the squad, I’m sure they will be a force to be reckoned with in the future if they keep moving forward and work hard for the gaffer”

On the move manager James Clark said “We were delighted to be able to get a player of Ryan’s calibre into the club in the first place, we would have loved him to stay longer but we would never stand in the way of a player who has the potential to move higher in the game”

“He has all the attributes to make it to the top and we wish him all the success in the future, we are just pleased we were able to offer him a platform to showcase his talents and help the club now, and if he ever has a free week he knows we will welcome him back with open arms”

“Ryan’s move came out of the blue and things have moved very quickly this week but that is what happens with quality players”

From everyone at Washington we wish Ryan every success in his career.
