Business and IT consultancy Waterstons is set for international expansion with a new Australian office in Sydney and 24/7 support service for global clients from March 2020.
Waterstons, headquartered in Durham, has a multinational client base across a range of sectors. It provides technology based solutions, helping businesses improve performance and sharpen their competitive edge.
The company’s first overseas office will support its growing Australian client base. It will also enable Waterstons to offer its UK and international clients a 24/7 proactive support service to help them achieve greater success.
The launch of the new international base not only signifies Waterstons’ commitment to its clients, but also a pledge to nurture future talent in partnership with universities in Sydney. The business and IT consultancy hopes to hire a number of graduates as it builds its team throughout 2020 and beyond.
Waterstons in Australia will be headed up by Charlie Hales who is currently head of the northern region in the UK. She brings with her 15 years of experience and an excellent global network.
Charlie, Managing Director of Waterstons in Australia, said: “I love a challenge and I can’t wait to get the new Australia business up and running. We already have a presence in Australia and work with a number of clients in both Sydney and Perth. We are now excited to build on these strong partnerships and connect with new businesses.
“Our partnership approach to supporting clients, combined with a proactive culture and strong core values have resonated with Australian businesses, giving us the opportunity to expand internationally.”
Alex Bookless, Head of Managed Services at Waterstons, said: “The opportunity to open an office in Sydney allows us to offer a 24/7 support service for our clients without the need to work nightshifts in the UK. This means we can continue to offer an excellent service to our customers, where the person picking up the phone is the person who can fix your issue, whilst also meeting our core values.”
Garry Linney, Head of Group IT at James Fisher, said: “James Fisher has partnered with Waterstons on projects across the globe for many years.
‘Waterstons’ proactive approach, unfaltering work ethic and excellent problem solving skills have really impressed us. They care about the success of our business and we look forward to working closely together as we grow our Australian operation.”
Alistair McLeod, Director, added: “The opening of our first international office is part of an exciting year of growth and development for Waterstons. We are servicing clients across the globe, our team has grown to over 180 working across four offices, and our turnover reflects record growth this year.
“Our expansion brings many opportunities for our colleagues and new recruits. We have a clear roadmap for the business and we are all looking forward to the 12 months ahead.”
