Watson Burton bolsters real estate team with new appointment

Heather PottsHeather Potts, from Newcastle, has joined the commercial law firm to work with a range of clients in the real estate sector, on matters including the acquisition, funding, development and disposal of development sites. 

Her key responsibilities will include providing legal support on projects in the renewable energy, leisure and food and beverage industries.

A graduate of Northumbria University, where she studied for a Masters of Law (LLM) degree, Heather qualified at Gordon Brown Law Firm LLP, where she worked across a range of disciplines including corporate law and residential conveyancing.

She then held a solicitor’s role at a large commercial law firm, where she advised on a wide range of corporate transactions including company sales, acquisitions, joint ventures and share buy-backs.

Watson Burton’s Real Estate Group comprises a cross disciplinary team of lawyers who specialise in the full range of services for the real estate sector. It provides advice in relation to site acquisitions and disposals, plot sales, planning and highways.

The real estate team also has vast experience in ground rent disposals and social housing initiatives, and provides construction, employment, corporate, banking, commercial and regulatory advice to real estate clients.
